The above quote is an example of what you will find if you try to look up the definition of Technical Writing. It’s dull and bland, and in today’s video tutorials, some might say it’s becoming obsolete. But it doesn’t need to be that way. Technical writing allows me to learn about something new and share my knowledge with others.
Good technical writing should be easy to read. The reader should be able to switch in and out of the written instructions without getting lost. It should be engaging — the reader should want to see the instructions through to the end. Even better is if the reader learns something new and valuable about the subject.
